Reporting to the Chief Transformation Officer, the Transformation Gemba Coach serves as a system-level enablement resource responsible for strengthening enterprise continuous improvement capabilities through Gemba-based coaching, standardization, and Lean methodology deployment aligned to System Transformation & Re-Engineering (STAR) transformation principles and delivery practices. This role focuses on building organizational capability for structured problem-solving, leader-led improvement, and coaching-based transformation support across STAR-sponsored initiatives. Through direct observation of work, facilitation support, intake consultation, and leader enablement activities, the role reinforces enterprise alignment to Lean methodologies, operational excellence principles, and STAR transformation standards.
Operating within the STAR transformation delivery model, the Transformation Gemba Coach partners with leaders, sponsors, STAR facilitators, and STAR leadership to support initiative intake, triage, charter development, facilitation readiness and alignment of transformation resources to enterprise priorities. This role serves as a strategic advisor and capability-building resource responsible for strengthening problem-solving efforts, and reinforcing consistent application of STAR methodologies, facilitation practices, and enterprise improvement approaches across organizational initiatives.
This role operates in close partnership with STAR leadership to reinforce consistency in transformation delivery, enterprise problem-solving standards, facilitation practices, and organizational methodologies across STAR-supported initiatives.

Education & Requirement
- Seven (7) years of demonstrated experience at a professional level in continuous improvement, enterprise transformation, organizational effectiveness, and/or operational excellence
- Experience must include leading complex cross-functional improvement initiatives, facilitating organizational change, applying Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) principles, and supporting enterprise-wide transformation efforts
- Demonstrated experience developing and applying structured problem-solving methodologies, transformation frameworks, facilitation standards, coaching practices and operational standard work
- Experience partnership with leaders and stakeholders to strengthen organization capability, adoption, and sustained improvement outcomes required
- Prior health care experience required
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required
- Master's degree from an accredited institution preferred
- Lean Certification preferred
- Change Management Certification preferred
- Executive or Leadership Coaching Certification preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
Key Qualifications
Expert comprehensive knowledge, familiarity, and aptitude in the following:
- Coaching methodologies and techniques for developing leaders and facilitators, including providing real-time feedback, guiding critical thinking, and building capability.
- Continuous improvement and transformation methodologies, including Lean principles, standard work, structured problem-solving and performance management systems.
- Enterprise problem-solving frameworks, including development and application of scalable tools, playbooks, and delivery models.
- Change management principles, including driving awareness, adoption, reinforcement, and sustainment of new ways of working.
- Executive stakeholder engagement and enterprise transformation enablement, including alignment of operational priorities, adoption strategies, and organizational readiness efforts.
- Performance measurement and outcome tracking including defining meaningful metrics, interpreting dashboards, and identifying gaps in performance.
- Managing for Daily Improvement (MDI) and integration of problem-solving into operating models and governance structures.
- Industry best practices and benchmarking to inform problem-solving approaches, frameworks, and organizational capacity building.
- Health plan operations and cross-functional dependencies, including governance structures, stakeholder alignment, and enterprise priorities.
- Use of common business and productivity tools (Microsoft Word, Visio, PowerPoint, Excel). Familiar with data visualization tools.
Demonstrated skills in:
- Coaching leaders & facilitators in the Gemba to strengthen problem-solving approach, critical thinking, and application of transformation, Lean, and change management methodologies
- Designing and implementing structured problem-solving frameworks, tools, and standard work for enterprise use
- Assessing enterprise initiatives and recommending appropriate transformation approaches, engagement strategies, and delivery models based on organizational need and readiness
- Advising and guiding leaders in problem-solving efforts by strengthening problem framing, approach, and critical thinking
- Translating complex methodologies into practical, easy-to-use tools and resources that drive adoption
- Driving alignment and organizational readiness across diverse stakeholders, including executive sponsors, business owners, operational leaders, and transformation teams
- Communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to varied audiences
- Analyzing data and operational information to identify trends, assess effectiveness, and inform continuous improvement
- Identify patterns and insights across initiatives to refine tools and approaches

Pay Range
- $104,041.60 USD Annually - $137,841.60 USD Annually
