Position Summary/Position


This position is responsible for the supervision, mentoring, and development of staff, overseeing the monthly close activities to ensure reporting deadlines are met, and prepare monthly financial results for executive team and Board Committee. The position will require in-depth technical accounting knowledge to ensure all financial reporting is in accordance with GAAP and latest accounting pronouncements, regulatory and internal guidelines.  This position will oversee annual financial audit and participates in external regulatory audits.

Major Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)


1. Manage the monthly close process to ensure reporting deadlines and deliverables are met.
2. Oversee/Review monthly analysis to ensure financials statements are complete.
3. Ensure all balance sheet reconciliations are properly reconciled and reviewed by month end.
4. Oversee revenue reconciliation down to member level detail using SQL queries and tables.
5. Perform and/or review ad-hoc and/or complex analysis requested by management.
6. Manage/oversee critical Rate Encyclopedia file.
7. Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop Senior Accountant and Accountants; establish performance goals and objectives, monitor their status and progress as well as recruit, hire and train new associates.
8. Keep abreast of latest accounting pronouncement to ensure financials are GAAP compliant and to provide guidance team members on technical accounting issues.
9. Have a general understanding of MLR/Statutory filings in order to ensure GL team factor in external reporting requirements in the financial reporting deliverables.
10. Keep abreast of DHCS and CMS programs and related changes that are applicable to IEHP business.
11. Manage and prioritize job tasks in order to meet financial reporting deadlines.
12. Identity areas where process improvements are needed and provide suggestions for implementation.
13. Effective communications with all levels of staff including but not limited to management, internal staff and external parties.

Experience Qualifications


Minimum of five (5) years of experience in accounting, finance, or regulatory reporting, with at least two years of healthcare experience. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience or equivalent experience. Experience with ERP systems.

A Master’s degree from an accredited institution can be substituted in lieu of minimum supervisory/management experience.

Preferred Experience


Oracle experience a plus.

Education Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or other related field from an accredited institution required.

CPA is required.

Knowledge Requirement


Knowledgeable in GAAP. Demonstrated leadership and ability to mentor and train subordinates.

Starting Salary: $97,843.20  - $124,758.40
