Position Summary/Position


The Innovation Principal is responsible for providing thought recommendations to business leaders across the enterprise to address ambiguous problems and opportunities through internal innovation consulting engagements and the running of targeted experiments. This role will serve as a change agent, leveraging a consistent and disciplined approach to innovation to design dynamic yet enduring concepts. This role will use data-driven internal and external insights, executive stakeholder management, design thinking principles, and strategy design to provide identify and prove out disruptive ideas for leadership. This role will collaborate with stakeholders across all functions to translate enterprise and business-unit strategies into specific objectives and key results. The Innovation Principal will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a consistent approach to innovation initiatives through design of experiments, and ensuring initiatives connect to our strategy. The Innovation Principal will have a pivotal role in informing the ongoing building and execution of enterprise and business-unit level strategies to strengthen IEHPs ability to transform Healthcare.

Major Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)


1. Systematically leverage a consistent, repeatable approach to innovation.
2. Develop and execute on an innovation road map based on your focus area.
3. Research market trends and user experiences to support the design of new visions and possible scenarios for the organization.
4. Collaborate with strategy team to algin work with strategic direction of projects/programs and alignment across the enterprise, to inform decision-making at all levels of the organization.
5. Define comprehensive enterprise and business-unit concepts that tie to outcomes that produce value for members, providers, and colleagues.
6. Leverage market, external, and industry insights to identify opportunities and make strategic recommendations, including building our enterprise competitive intelligence capabilities.
7. Facilitate design session, workshops, or focus groups to engage key stakeholders across the enterprise.
8. Define business cases for most promising concepts.
9. Lead design sessions and produce supporting artifacts to flesh out most promising concepts.
10. Champion concepts for experimentation and production.
11. Manage and report on approved experiments through the innovation lifecycle.
12. Create highly professional presentations to communicate and support findings.
13. Create executive materials to maintain clear, succinct, and meaningful communication with Executives and Community Leaders.

Experience Qualifications


Requires at least eight (8) years of prior relevant experience in either Consulting, Product Management, or Innovation. Experience navigating large and complex organizations, including gaining access to key executives and stakeholders and successfully managing relationship building dynamics and processes within a highly matrixed environment.

Education Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.

Preferred Education


Master’s degree (MBA, MPH or MHA) from an accredited institution preferred.

Professional Certification


Design Thinking certification preferred.

Professional Licenses

Drivers License Required

Yes, must have a valid California Driver's License.

Knowledge Requirement


- Deep understanding of innovation and strategic frameworks.
- Deep understanding of application of technology and digital transformation.
- Knowledge of management consulting and client management, including meeting and workshop development and management, presentation production, inductive/deductive reasoning, client interviewing, issue analysis, data analysis, process design, change management.

Skills Requirement


Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent project management skills, Agile methodology experience preferred. Core consulting skills. Interpersonal skills.

Starting Salary: $118,248.00  - $150,779.20
