Position Summary/Position

 

The IT Project Portfolio Data Analyst role is focused on data collection, review and reporting in support of the Project Portfolio Management Office (PPM). Responsible for creating dashboards and reports in all areas of PPM. Responsible for understanding the data needs and integration with the PPM software, including but not limited to project data collection, financial data and resource data. Responsible for data validation and forecasting.

Major Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

 

1. Develop status reports for senior management, report on any issues in the project timeline and provide analysis of the performance and success of projects.
2. Develop and maintain PPM reporting and dashboards.
3. Analyze portfolio data such as resource utilization and budget projections to provide forecasting.
4. Validate portfolio data accuracy and quality in support of accurate system reporting, including integrated data capture.
5. Identify data issues and work with teams to resolution, providing tracking and communication of any issues through to resolution.
6. Understand PPM software functionality and data collection processes to document scenarios for testing and perform UAT.
7. Support the automation of data integration and delivery.
8. Prepare reports, data analysis and presentations for governance and portfolio review meetings.
9. Attend various steering committee and PPM meetings.
10. Create ad hoc reports as requested in a timely manner.
11. Portfolio validation and quality review, analysis, and presentation of results to PPM team.
12. Support and manage assigned projects and effectively communicate on project status with leaders.
13. Collaborate with staff at all levels to solve issues, documenting results and methodologies.
14. Gather and analyze requirements for and develop processes and reports as assigned.
15. Utilize PPM system and processes to support operational strategies and reporting.
16. Demonstrate a commitment to incorporate LEAN principles into daily work.

Experience Qualifications

 

Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a data analyst/data management role. Experience with the development of reports and dashboards. Experience with data validation, scenario development and testing practices. Experience in quality-analysis environments.

Preferred Experience

 

Experience with project portfolio data preferred

Education Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science, technology, and/or project management from an accredited institution required.

Knowledge Requirement

 

- Proficiency with PowerBI and dashboards
- Knowledge of project management software and practices exs, Adobe Workfront, Planview, Clarity.
- Strong understanding of project and portfolio management techniques.
- Familiarity with the functioning of PPM governance
- Ability to migrate reports from excel to PowerBI and provide new data strategy recommendations for existing processes.

Starting Salary: $79,809.60  - $101,774.40  

Pay rate will commensurate with experience
