Position Summary/Position
The Engineer II - Test Environment Management position assists Manager, Technical Test Data & Environment and assists in leading in directing, controlling, and managing the enterprise-level test environments. It consists of using procedures, tools, and resources to manage multiple components like software, hardware, databases, test data, and applications. This position works in collaboration with the infrastructure team and TDM Engineers to ensure Test Environments are ready with necessary test data for Test execution and Delivery teams.
Major Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
1. Design and develop test environment strategy and plans to support initiatives within assigned domains
2. Analyze existing environments and identify requirement gaps and immaturities.
3. Understand the overall release cycles and identifies the environment requirements to effectively support
4. Collaborate with Senior Team Members/ Application support teams, Internal Dev and DB teams, External Vendor teams in setting up the test environments for product upgrades/Releases.
5. Understand the technical requirements to set up test environments and collaborate with the infrastructure team to configure a database or set up and configure several VMs to facilitate testing.
6. Prioritize Environment Build & Change Requests.
7. Build, Reserve, Refresh, Reuse & Reclaim environments for project use as a mechanism to optimize our infrastructure resources.
8. Provide details on progress on the various environment requests for several applications and Data integration processes.
9. Work together with Test Data Management resources to ensure the test data is masked and ready for test execution.
10. Monitor & Report environment setup progress.
11. Setup environment configurations, create environment maps, and generate environment matrix using a Test Environment Management tools.
12. Support a continuous release schedule across multiple groups.
13. Interact with project managers, Test Delivery and Governance managers to sequence projects for testing in a limited number of testing environments.
14. Maintain overall grasp of the work effort involved to set up and configuring operating systems, networks, databases, and application servers involved in the creation of end-to-end testing environments.
15. Maintain track record of organizing and tracking the progress of multiple projects across the software development lifecycle.
16. Communicate with management on topics including project timelines, contingency plans, environment budgets, and resource allocation.
17. Utilize project planning and forecasting tools.
18. Collaborate with Test Delivery and UAT Test Coordination teams to accommodate Test environment needs for QE engineers and UAT testers.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Experience Qualifications
A minimum of six (6) years of Information systems and Quality Engineering experience. Minimum three (3) years of experience working in Test Environment/Test Data Management. Experience working with various Product Vendors. Demonstrated ability in Design and developing test environment strategies and plans.
Education Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management or similar technical field from an accredited institution required.
Drivers License Required
Knowledge Requirement
Strong Knowledge of:
- Quality assurance processes and procedures, and the ability to devise methods to enforce quality standards.
- Test Environment Management and Test Data Management tools
- Test Automation and CI/CD experience
- Agile environment and DevOps
- Technical work required to stand-up test environments, and ready to delegate this work to associated release engineering groups.

Physical Requirements
A reasonable salary expectation is between $91,000.00 - $116,022.40, based upon experience and internal equity.
