Position Summary/Position


Under general supervision, this position will design, create, maintain program applications and systems for processing data coming into IEHP and going to trading partners. Internal: Create interfaces between multiple systems over multiple OS platforms. External: Development of tools to improve the amount of data, the quality of the data, and the ease of submission for our trading partners.

Major Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)


1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

3. Ability to lead other team members and developers to complete projects on time and within schedule.
4. Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
5. Ability to meet deadlines and work within a deadline driven department.
6. Analyze architecture, relationship between systems and flow of end-to-end designs.
7. Create SQL stored procedures and queries related to EDI business requirements.
8. Assist with current EDI process maintenance.
9. Enhance current processes and create solutions to improve processes.
10. Work with multiple departments within IEHP to design and develop solutions to improve efficiency of current processes.
11. Elicit requirements and provide documentation for the development team to build out new systems and features needed by the EDI team.
12. Perform analysis to track the quality of the Encounter data and the quality of the systems that maintain Encounter Data.

Experience Qualifications


The following experience may be concurrent: Four years in programming, analysis and design, systems development, or system administration. Four years database administration experience. Two years programming PC applications, including PC to Host computer communications, in a network environment. Experience with Object Oriented Methodology and familiar with Design Patterns. Project management experience. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Preferred Experience


Experience preferably in a healthcare setting. Proficient using XML. Knowledge of SSRS preferred. Two years programming in SQL, C#, C, or C++ preferred. Microsoft SQL Server experience preferred.

Education Qualifications


Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Accounting, Public or Business Administration, or Healthcare from an accredited institution required.

Knowledge Requirement


Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices. Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

Skills Requirement


Good written and oral communication skills. Strong technical documentation skills. Good interpersonal skills.

Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards, and products as required. Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language. Highly self motivated and directed.
