Auditor - Internal Controls

POSITION PURPOSE:

 

Under the direction of the Internal Controls Manager, the Internal Controls Auditor is responsible for conducting internal audits to identify risks, establish controls and asses the control environment of each significant business process with a focus on Accounts Payable, Payroll and Purchasing .

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

Perform monthly payroll audits of processes and make annual recommendations for improvement. Conduct monthly audits of the requisition, purchase order, and invoice payment process. Review and monitor employee reimbursement and credit card processes. Analyze and review PDE processes and accounting entries to ensure compliance with CMS guidance. Audit company compliance with Board resolutions and approvals. Audit and monitor new and recently improved internal controls for adherence to recommendations. Test quarterly compliance of financial data dictionaries with prescribed intent. Create monthly internal audit reports on control weaknesses and audits performed as directed by Director and Executive team. Present annual internal audit plan for approval to the executive team. Identify areas of opportunity for control enhancements. Promote teamwork and maintain effective working relationships with others throughout the organization. Any other duties as required to ensure Health Plan operations are successful. Ensure the privacy and security of PHI (Protected Health Information) as outlined in IEHP's policies and procedures relating to HIPAA compliance.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or similar area from an accredited four (4) year institution.

 

  • Three years of financial services experience in the area of internal controls assessment and auditing.
  • Experience with MS Office applications.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

  • Qualified candidate should possess strong analytical and problem solving skills and have experience applying internal auditing and accounting principles and practices.

 

 

Hiring Range: $49,192 -  $62,004
