Position Summary/Position

 

Under the Medical Operations Manager’s general supervision, the Analyst II - Medical Services supports departments within Medical Services through various complex assignments, including the development, monitoring, oversight, and implementation of regulatory and special projects within Medical Services. Projects may include, but not be limited to, the implementation of new State and Federal regulatory requirements and process changes within a single or multiple departments in Medical Services, which may or may not impact departments outside of the Division. The Analyst II - Medical Services is responsible for meeting project milestones and ensuring successful project completion.

Major Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

 

1. Lead the implementation of new State and Federal regulatory requirements and process changes within a single or multiple departments in Medical Services, which may or may not impact departments outside of the Division.  This includes:
     a. Developing and defining the project scope, goals and deliverables;
     b. Developing, monitoring and maintaining a detailed project plan that identifies all required tasks, deliverables, responsible parties and associated timelines;
   c. Managing changes to the project scope, schedule and deliverables and communicate potential risks associated with such changes.
    d. Ensuring successful relationships between project stakeholders and resources to ensure delivery of project outcomes;
   e. Communicating project expectations and assigned deliverables to resources, including reminder and follow-up notices;
   f. Monitoring and tracking project progress using defined software tools such as Microsoft Project, Workfront or other electronic tools;
    g. Reporting and escalating project status and barriers to management, as needed;
    h. Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation.
2. In collaboration with management, develop and review internal and provider policies, and ensure that these are kept current, coordinated, accurate and in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
3. Facilitate and ensure timely response by their assigned department to Compliance and other regulatory/audit-related inquiries, which may include but not limited to regulatory implementation, policy development/approval, process development/documentation, training plan, etc.
4. Facilitate the completion of system and special projects, which entails:
     a. Reviewing requests for quality, completeness and accuracy;
     b. Gathering and documenting complete requirements;
     c. Coordinating leadership review and approval of requests, as appropriate;
   d. Collaborating with other departments/resources to complete projects timely and accurately; and
     e. Communicating project status and updates to stakeholders.
5. Assist departments to develop and document systems and processes that employ Lean principles, support operational strategies and ensure the ability to share and report data.
6. Assist departments to make Lean business decisions by identifying and communicating identified opportunities for process improvements, staffing and resource needs.
7. Coordinate workflow and process development and documentation between Medical Services and other departments and ensure that these support the operational strategies of the division.

Experience Qualifications

 

At least three (3) years of experience providing complex analytical, administrative, and/or project implementation support.

Preferred Experience

 

Experience providing similar level of support within a healthcare organization, preferred.

Education Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required.

Preferred Education

 

Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Public Administration or other related field from an accredited institution preferred

Knowledge Requirement

 

Working knowledge of project management software, such as MS Project, Workfront or equivalent. Knowledge of managed care industry practices and standards including both Federal, State and accreditation standards, is preferred.

Skills Requirement

 

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Must have strong critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills.

Abilities Requirement

 

Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills; exceptional follow-through abilities to track all outstanding tasks and coordinate with assigned owners to ensure tasks are completed timely. Must have the ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and changing priorities. Must have the ability to work well in a team environment and build effective relationships with Team Members at all levels.

Working Conditions

 

The work environment is an office setting.  This job function requires sitting for extended periods, walking occasionally, and standing occasionally.  It is sometimes necessary to travel to other sites which tend to be clinical, office or field settings.  It is necessary to be able to operate typical business equipment and tools such as computer keyboards, computer mice, printers, staplers, etc.  Lifting light objects is routine.  Lifting objects up to 10 lbs is occasional and up to 25 lbs is infrequent.

 

Starting Salary: $66,040.00  - $84,219.20  

Pay rate will commensurate with experience
